BreakPoint Church exists to create a vibrant faith community, dedicated to reaching the unchurched and underserved through worship, teaching, outreach, and acts of compassion; and to equip believers to live out the teachings of Jesus.
Pastor Brandon & Kristina McGowin have been serving the local church together since 2011. They have served as Youth Pastors in Mississippi, Texas, and Florida. Whether serving in Youth Ministry together or Pastor Kristina leading worship, they long to see people come to know Jesus.
Brandon McGowin was born in Brewton, Alabama and was raised in Chunky, Mississippi. It was at the age of 13 at a Mississippi AG Youth Camp that God saved, filled, and called him into ministry. Outside of his primary ministry as Youth Pastor, he has been a chaplain for multiple sports teams, oversaw media, been a board member for FCA, and much more. The common thread and mission of his life is to live out Matthew 28:19 and to simply GO through whatever doors God opens.
Kristina McGowin was born in Meridian, Mississippi and raised in church. As a teen she was prophesied over that she would be in ministry and married to a pastor. While she is a pastor’s wife, she is much more. Her passion is for worship. She has been on the worship team at every church they have served on staff at. However, for the last 4 years she has had the honor to serve as Worship Pastor.
Together the McGowin’s believe the mission of the church is simple: Reach lost people and make disciples. That is a process that is then repeated over and over, UNTIL ALL KNOW.
In 2020, Pastor Brandon McGowin and his wife Kristina, along with their 3 children (Braydon, Olivia, and Jett) moved to Panama City to be Youth Pastors at a local church. It was then, that this process began.
The Hathaway Bridge is what connects Panama City with Panama City Beach. It was that bridge that first birthed this dream to plant a church. In 2020 we were driving over this bridge when the Lord began to speak to both of us. As we began to talk, we realized that the Lord was speaking the same thing to both of us. That word was that we would lead a ministry that would be the BreakPoint for people in their faith.
Now, we are ready to walk out what began in 2020 on Hathaway Bridge and launch BreakPoint Church in Panama City Beach, Florida. Our heart is for the lost. Our heart is for the broken. Our heart is to see people know Jesus in a way they’ve never known Him before.
We have been blessed to be surrounded by people who believe in us and the call of God on our lives. People like Dr. Pickens, who in his Church Planting class at Bridges Christian College posed this question: “Do you think the Lord was speaking prophetically through this class for you to plant a church?”
Beginning the Fall of 2026, BreakPoint Church will go from being a dream placed in our heart, a prophetic word spoken to friends and mentors, and will become a reality.
